IN HOUSE AWARDS
Weekly we award our 'Star of the Week'. This certificate is given to those students who have stood out that week and have shown real commitment to their class. These certificates should be kept safe as they could become a trophy at our end of year awards!
At the end of the academic year we host our yearly award ceremony for all students at CCA. This is a wonderful event where we can celebrate students successes throughout the year. Awards are given for various categories including most improved, most dedicated , principals award, as well as an award for the student with the most 'Star of the Week' certificates in each group.

When students enrol at the academy they are provided with our branded lanyard.
This lanyard is the base for our in house reward scheme. Throughout the year students can work towards various badges which can then be added to their lanyard.
Badges can be awarded during any academy class and have specific criteria. There are two types of badges:
Milestones: These badges are awarded for things such as moving groups or being with us for a specific length of time.
Progression: These are awarded for key skills which have shown great improvement including splits, pirouettes and community work.
LANYARD REWARD SCHEME
Our Assessments are affiliated with 'International Dance Rewards'.
Once a term students will be scheduled an assessment in their normal class time. These exams vary from musical theatre to a specific style of dance such as Jazz or Ballet. Within this assessment students will be given a criteria which they need to demonstrate they can perform confidently, this directly links with the criteria for exams and gives students a regular 'rehearsal' for their exams. Assessments are ran all the way through from our Tiny Tots up to our Seniors.
Exams are affiliated with 'New Era Academy' & 'National Association of Teachers of Dancing'
Exams at the academy are taken once a year, suitable for all of our students. The exams offered include Musical Theatre, Acro, Contemporary, Street, Acting and more. There are various levels which students will work through in our time with us and as they reach the higher end of these exams they will also UCAS points.
Students who choose to take individual exams will need to take mandatory exam classes weekly in the run up to their exam and our faculty will work intently with the students to ensure they are confident and ready for their exam.
Each year our students take to the stage for either a Musical production or showcase to perform and show their progression with us over the year. Details about this years production will be sent out prior to the start of the rehearsal term.
The academy like to keep lessons as current to the industry at present as possible, we often will invite guest teachers to the studio to run a workshop with the students, sometimes these will be online depending on the teachers location.
Our most recent workshop was with John Forsyth who was working as a dancer on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines before the pandemic and has now joined our permanent faculty.
INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS
We regularly give students a studio project. Classes will work on a piece or production and experience the rehearsal process and record the project in house, which will be sent out to families. This builds a great experience for our yearly production, making students more confident and prepared.
The academy devise programmes which run alongside students usual training and encourages development between classes and stimulates creativity.
Programmes can be enrolled on for a small fee, which covers the cost of printing the programme and the end award. When students complete their programme they will receive a badge for their lanyard and a certificate marking their completion.
