ABOUT THIS CLASS
Tap Beginners introduces students to the exciting world of tap dance through fun, structured lessons that develop rhythm, timing, coordination and musicality. Students learn the core techniques and vocabulary of tap while building confidence and discovering how movement and music work together.
Each class encourages creativity, perseverance and performance, creating a supportive environment where every student can progress at their own pace. Whether dancing for fun or working towards future progression, Tap Beginners provides strong technical foundations for every young tap dancer.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Rhythm
& Timing
Students are introduced to the fundamental steps, sounds and vocabulary of tap dance, building strong technical foundations through progressive exercises and exciting choreography.

Technique
Students are introduced to the fundamental steps, sounds and vocabulary of tap dance, building strong technical foundations through progressive exercises and exciting choreography.
Coordination
& Footwork
Tap dance encourages students to improve balance, coordination and agility while learning increasingly accurate footwork.
Musicality
Students learn to interpret music through movement, developing an understanding of rhythm, tempo and dynamics.
Performance
Skills
Students combine their growing technical skills with performance quality, learning to project confidence, expression and personality while performing exciting tap routines.
Confidence
& Progression
Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate their achievements and progress at their own pace.

UNIFORM
Students should wear fitted CCA clothing with black full lace tap shoes. Long hair should be secured in a neat bun using an Academy scrunchie.

Colman Rising Stars Programme Director
Daisy is the Colman Rising Stars Programme Lead at Colman Creative Academy and has over 6 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about supporting our lower school students, helping them develop strong foundations, grow in confidence and achieve their full potential in a fun, nurturing environment.
