ABOUT THIS CLASS
Next Step Dance is designed for students who are ready to build upon their existing dance knowledge through more challenging training in Street, Contemporary, Acro and Jazz. Classes focus on refining technique, developing versatility and building the confidence needed to perform across multiple dance styles.
Students are encouraged to challenge themselves through engaging choreography, technical exercises and performance opportunities while continuing to develop strength, flexibility, musicality and stage presence. Next Step Dance provides an excellent bridge between foundation training and our more advanced dance programmes, helping students prepare for future specialist classes and performance opportunities within the Academy.

Street
Dance
Students build upon their street dance foundations through more challenging choreography, musicality and performance techniques.
Contemporary
Dance
Students further develop contemporary dance technique through fluid movement, floor work and creative choreography.
Acro
Development
Students continue developing their acrobatic ability through progressive strength, flexibility and technical training.
Jazz
Technique
Students expand their jazz vocabulary through increasingly challenging exercises, turns, kicks and travelling sequences.
Performance
Skills
Students develop stage presence, confidence and performance quality through engaging choreography and regular opportunities to perform.
Preparation for
Progression
Next Step Dance is designed to bridge the gap between foundation training and our more advanced dance programmes.
Street

UNIFORM
Students should wear fitted CCA clothing.
Students train barefoot and in trainers, and girls should wear their hair in a neat bun secured with an Academy scrunchie.

Limitless Minis
Additional Opportunity
Students can audition for Limitless Minis to gain additional rehearsal time and exciting performance opportunities at productions, competitions and community events.
Advanced Classes
Ages 13+
Progress into Advanced Street, Advanced Contemporary or Advanced Jazz, allowing you to focus on the style you enjoy most.
Next Step Dance
Ages 11+
Develop stronger technique, musicality and performance quality while preparing for advanced training.
Lower School Dance

Daisy is the Colman Rising Stars Programme Lead at Colman Creative Academy and has over 6 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about supporting our lower school students, helping them develop strong foundations, grow in confidence and achieve their full potential in a fun, nurturing environment.
