ABOUT THIS CLASS
Lower School Dance is a varied dance programme designed to introduce students to a range of exciting dance styles, including Street, Contemporary, Acro and basic Jazz. Through engaging choreography and progressive technical training, students develop strength, coordination, flexibility and musicality while discovering the unique qualities of each style.
Classes encourage creativity, confidence and self-expression, helping students build a broad dance foundation before progressing into more specialist training. With a balance of technique, performance and fun, Lower School Dance provides the perfect environment for young dancers to develop their skills, make lasting friendships and grow as confident performers.

Street
Dance
Students explore the foundations of street dance while developing rhythm, coordination and performance skills through fun, engaging choreography.
Contemporary
Dance
Students discover the expressive world of contemporary dance, developing fluid movement, control and creativity. T

Foundations
Students build the core acrobatic skills needed for dance, including balance, flexibility, coordination and body control.
Jazz
Technique
Students are introduced to the key principles of jazz dance, including posture, kicks, turns and travelling movements.
Performance
Skills
Students learn how to perform with confidence by developing stage presence, facial expression and projection.
Teamwork
& Confidence
Dance is about more than learning steps. Students develop resilience, teamwork and confidence while supporting one another.
Street
Dance
Students explore the foundations of street dance while developing rhythm, coordination and performance skills through fun, engaging choreography.
UNIFORM
Students should wear fitted CCA clothing.
Students train barefoot and in trainers, and girls should wear their hair in a neat bun secured with an Academy scrunchie.

Advanced Classes
Ages 13+

Next Step Dance
Ages 11+

Daisy is the Colman Rising Stars Programme Lead at Colman Creative Academy and has over 6 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about supporting our lower school students, helping them develop strong foundations, grow in confidence and achieve their full potential in a fun, nurturing environment.
