ABOUT THIS CLASS
Little Leaps is our fun and engaging preschool dance programme, specially designed for children aged 3–5 years. Through imaginative themes, music and movement, students are introduced to the foundations of dance in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Each class develops coordination, balance, rhythm and musicality while helping children grow in confidence, creativity and independence. Students explore a variety of dance styles through exciting activities, games and choreography, encouraging them to express themselves while learning new skills.
Little Leaps provides the perfect first step into the world of dance, helping young performers develop a lifelong love of movement while preparing them for progression into our Rising Stars dance programmes.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Dance
Foundations
Students develop core dance skills including posture, balance, coordination and simple movement patterns through fun, age-appropriate activities that create strong foundations for future dance training.
Musicality
& Rhythm
Children explore rhythm, tempo and musical awareness through songs, games and movement activities, helping them develop timing, listening skills and confidence while dancing.
Creativity
& Expression
Students explore storytelling, characters and imaginative movement, encouraging creativity while building confidence to express themselves through dance and performance.
Coordination
& Balance
Through exciting activities and movement challenges, students improve coordination, balance, agility and spatial awareness, helping them become confident and capable movers.
Confidence
& Independence
Students are encouraged to try new skills, celebrate achievements and become increasingly independent in a supportive environment that builds resilience and self-belief.
Teamwork
& Friendships
Children develop valuable social skills by working with others, taking turns, supporting friends and celebrating each other's achievements while becoming part of the Academy community.

UNIFORM
Girls should wear a CCA Leotard with CCA Leggings.
Boys should wear a CCA Vest Top with CCA Leggings.
Students train barefoot, and girls should wear their hair in a neat bun secured with an Academy scrunchie.

Limitless Minis
Additional Opportunity
Students can audition for Limitless Minis to gain additional rehearsal time and exciting performance opportunities at productions, competitions and community events.
Advanced Classes
Ages 13+
Progress into Advanced Street, Advanced Contemporary or Advanced Jazz, allowing you to focus on the style you enjoy most.
Next Step Dance
Ages 11+
Develop stronger technique, musicality and performance quality while preparing for advanced training.
Lower School Dance
Ages 7+
Build strong foundations in technique, confidence and performance while exploring a variety of dance styles.

Colman Rising Stars Programme Director
Daisy is the Colman Rising Stars Programme Lead at Colman Creative Academy and has over 6 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about supporting our lower school students, helping them develop strong foundations, grow in confidence and achieve their full potential in a fun, nurturing environment.
