ABOUT THIS CLASS
Advanced Jazz is designed for committed dancers aged 12+ who are ready to take their training to the next level. Classes focus on developing strong technique, performance quality, musicality and confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Throughout the year, students challenge themselves through exciting choreography, technical exercises and performance opportunities.
Whether they aspire to perform professionally or simply want to continue growing as a dancer, Advanced Jazz provides the training, encouragement and opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students should have completed the Fundamentals of Dance Curriculum and be working confidently at Level 1 in this dance style (or demonstrate equivalent previous training and experience).
New students should book based on their previous dance experience, and our teaching team will assess the most suitable class during their Experience Pass.
Entry to this class is by teacher recommendation to ensure every student is prepared for the technical demands of advanced training.

Develop rhythm, timing and artistic interpretation to perform with confidence across a range of jazz styles.
Turns
& Leaps
Improve pirouettes, leaps and travelling sequences with increasing power, control and confidence.
Strength
& Flexibility
Increase strength, stamina and flexibility to support safe, powerful and technically strong dancing.
Choreography
Learn advanced routines while developing memory, performance quality and independent learning skills.
Jazz

UNIFORM
Students should wear fitted black clothing. Hair should be secured in a low bun using a purple academy scrunchie. Advanced Jazz is danced in Nike Pro Socks unless advised otherwise for specific performances.

Chloe Colman
Principal & ColmanICONS Programme Director
Chloe is the Principal of Colman Creative Academy and has over 12 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about creating an environment where every student feels challenged, supported and encouraged to achieve more than they thought possible. Her classes balance technical excellence with creativity, helping dancers build confidence both on and off the stage.
